Design Q

Design Q is an independent transport design consultancy based in Redditch, Worcestershire, England. It was founded in 1997 by two designers who had worked at Jaguar, and it started in automotive design before moving into aircraft interiors. Today it works across the transport sector, from suitcases and aircraft seats to sports cars and business jets.

What the company does

The studio supplies design and engineering services for aircraft interiors. In commercial aviation it has developed products for airlines including Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific. In business aviation it has produced designs across the Learjet, Challenger and Global families for Bombardier. The team is made up of designers, engineers and modellers who work together on each project.

Visualisation

Design Q builds realistic renders so that clients can review a design before anything is made. Its highest quality images start with Class A surfaces and are produced with 3ds Max and VRED. The studio also makes 3D panoramas that let a client look around a full interior on a tablet, phone or laptop, plus virtual reality reviews with a headset and video animations for sharing a product online.
