About Crédit Agricole

Credit Agricole is a French mutual and cooperative banking group that describes itself as the number one bank in France for housing, agriculture, businesses, professionals and local authorities and the world's ninth-largest bank. Its origins lie in the first local agricultural lending bank created in 1885 in Salins in the Jura, and the Act of 5 November 1894 that authorised farmers' unions to set up local credit banks; today the group comprises 39 regional banks together with Credit Agricole S.A. and its subsidiaries, including LCL, BforBank, Credit Agricole Private Banking, the asset manager Amundi with some 2,000 billion euros under management, Credit Agricole Assurances, Credit Agricole Immobilier, Credit Agricole Titres and the asset servicer CACEIS, renamed Credit Agricole CACEIS from 1 October 2026. In 2026 the group launched Credit Agricole Deutschland, a digital-first universal bank for German retail customers, agreed to acquire IKB Deutsche Industriebank, and created Credit Agricole Capital Naturel, a division dedicated to the preservation and regeneration of natural capital.
