Cirrus Instruction Europe

Cirrus Instruction Europe (CIE) is a flight training company at Rotterdam The Hague Airport in the Netherlands that trains Cirrus owners and pilots from across Europe. Its website describes it as a Cirrus Platinum Training Center and an EASA declared training organisation (DTO), and says it was named Cirrus Training Center of the Year 2020 (export) by Cirrus Aircraft. Instruction is given to both EASA and FAA licence holders, in the customer's own aircraft or the company's, by instructors who hold Cirrus Standardised Instructor Pilot (CSIP) or Training Center Instructor (TCI) status; one instructor also holds the SF50 Vision Jet type rating.

Training

• Cirrus transition training using Cirrus syllabi, the online course and scenario based training; on average three days for VFR and five for IFR, with eight to twelve flight hours of which part can be logged in the simulator
• Recurrent training: VFR and IFR refreshers, CAPS and emergency procedures, FAA flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks, EASA 24-month training flights and remedial training for lapsed licences
• Private pilot licence (EASA and FAA) on Cirrus aircraft
• Instrument rating, including the competency based instrument rating (CBIR)
• Vision Jet familiarisation, ferry flights, corporate and safety pilot services and aircraft repositioning
• Cirrus aircraft rental for trained pilots

Simulators

The company operates a Noble Flight Simulation Cirrus simulator, an FAA approved AATD with Perspective and Perspective+ cockpits and software for the SR20, SR22 and SR22 Turbo, which it uses for a substantial part of transition and recurrent course hours and for up to 20 hours towards an FAA instrument rating. It also has an Alsim 250 FNPT II, on which up to 25 hours can be logged towards a CBIR, and a Cirrus TouchTrainer ATD that it recommends for owners of Avidyne-equipped aircraft.
