Centech
Montreal technology incubator with an aerospace startup ecosystem

About Centech
Centech is a technology startup incubator in Montreal founded in 1996 by the Ecole de technologie superieure (ETS). It supports high-potential technology innovation projects from science and engineering by giving entrepreneurs an ecosystem of resources, tools and contacts from the idea stage through to commercialisation, and ranks among the top university incubators in the world. Its 2025 annual report opened the chapter of its 30th anniversary. Since June 2025 the incubator has been located in the Ax.c innovation space at 800 Rue du Square-Victoria in downtown Montreal, and it is supported by Canada Economic Development and the Government of Quebec.
Programmes
- Acceleration: a free 12-week support programme designed to advance a technology company by six to twelve months, with calls for projects and information sessions held throughout the year
- Propulsion: a personalised programme providing tools and resources to secure the long-term development of incubated companies
- Collision Lab: Centech's open innovation hub, which develops tailored corporate programmes and connects large companies with technology startups for co-development and pilot projects
- Sector ecosystems covering aerospace, manufacturing and industrial solutions, automation and Industry 4.0, telecommunications and microelectronics, cleantech, health and other fields
Aerospace
Aerospace is one of Centech's specialised sector ecosystems. In a partnership announced on the site, Airbus joined Safran, Thales, CAE and Collins Aerospace as a key partner of the Collision Lab, with Centech identifying and selecting Canadian startups against Airbus priorities such as sustainable materials, digital operations and artificial intelligence, supporting pilot projects and organising sector workshops. On 15 October 2026 Developpement economique de l'agglomeration de Longueuil (DEL), Centech and the Centre technologique en aerospatiale (CTA) signed a collaboration agreement to attract, support and grow aerospace startups in the Longueuil area, with Centech accompanying startups from ideation to commercialisation alongside partners including Safran, Airbus, Thales, CAE, Axelys and Espace Aero, the CTA contributing applied research, product development, technology validation and specialised testing, and DEL acting as the gateway for commercialisation, financing and networking.
