CAPS
Autonomous heavy lift drones carrying up to 200 kg payload in France
About CAPS
CAPS is a French company that develops heavy autonomous cargo drones. It is based in the Paris region, where it designs, builds and assembles its aircraft in its own premises. The site is written in French. The company describes an electric, modular drone that can carry different loads for farming, logistics and defence.
The drone is described as able to carry up to 200 kg over a radius of 40 km. CAPS says it is meant for local logistics, especially where transport is hard. The site names four features. These are autonomous flight, real time information through an online account, sensors with artificial intelligence for safety, and a design made for certification.
CAPS says it worked with ONERA, the French aerospace lab, on a design with a high level of redundancy so it can meet strict certification rules. The site shows one drone with three uses: farming, industry and military.
Partners named on the site are The French Aerospace Lab, Starburst Aerospace, Thales and Defense Angels. The contact page says teams run bench tests, technical validation and system integration at the Paris area site. The company invites investors, press and partners to book a meeting.
A job post asks for an electrical engineer in Paris to work on the drone power chain. The site has a contact form and links to LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
