About Batam Aero Technic

Batam Aero Technic is an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul company in Batam, Indonesia. It works on narrow-body and wide-body aircraft and is a subsidiary of Lion Air Group. The company describes itself as a key maintenance hub in Indonesia.

Base maintenance is a core service. The company carries out C-checks and D-checks, which it calls heavy maintenance. It also does end of lease checks, including lease-return work, cabin reconfigurations and modification management. Structure modification covers reinforcements, repairs and changes to aircraft configuration, done with approved engineering data. Airframe livery painting covers stripping, surface treatment, refinishing and full repaints for fleet rebranding or customer liveries.

The company also offers line maintenance, component overhaul and specialised work. Its enquiry form lists engine module replacement, aircraft painting and engineering services as topics customers can ask about.

It works on the Airbus A320 family, with IAE V2500, CFM56-5 and CFM LEAP-1A engines. It also handles the A330 series with Rolls-Royce Trent 700 and Trent 7000 engines. On the Boeing side, it covers the 737 Next Generation with CFM56-7B engines and the 737 MAX with CFM LEAP-1B engines. The ATR 42 and 72 series with Pratt and Whitney PW100 engines are also on the list.

The company says it has more than 20 years of experience in aircraft maintenance. It has 30 hectares of land for maintenance activity and seven hangars for maintenance and painting. It has more than 1,500 certified staff and 12 shops for component maintenance. It holds more than nine authority approvals that cover maintenance checks, including approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of Indonesia as an Approved Maintenance Organization.

Customers include Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific, Thai Lion Air and Batik Air Malaysia. Recent work includes on-time heavy maintenance of a Cebu Pacific Airbus A330-900neo, a reactivation and repaint of a Lion Air Boeing 737-800, and the return to service of an AirSwift ATR72-600. In April 2026 the company signed a strategic MOU with PT Dirgantara Indonesia. It was also a strategic partner of the Indonesia MRO Summit 2026 in Batam.
