Azzera

Azzera provides carbon compliance software and services for aviation. It has headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, and in Dorval, Quebec, near Montreal.

The company helps airlines, regional carriers, charter brokers and aircraft operators measure, report and cut their emissions. Its mission is to make managing and reducing emissions through carbon markets and sustainable aviation fuel, or SAF, simple for businesses.

Its main platform is CELESTE. It handles emissions monitoring and reporting under the EU, Swiss and UK emissions trading schemes, CORSIA and ReFuelEU. It links to a customer's flight planning software, so flight data is captured automatically and emissions are worked out as flights happen. CELESTE also tracks audit readiness, supports the buying of EU allowances over time and builds compliance reports.

For SAF, the platform keeps an inventory and links fuel use to specific missions. That helps operators show ReFuelEU compliance for each flight. It also supports SAF book and claim, which lets an operator claim the benefit even when no physical SAF was uplifted. A separate tool, Fly Beyond, is offered as an API, with options for operators and charter brokers to offer sustainability choices to their own clients.

Azzera offers operational carbon accounting for Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, plus carbon auditing and reporting. It also provides access to verified carbon credits, rated by the Azzera Impact Score. Customers can buy and retire credits, and the company says its experts can reach more than 12 million credits worldwide. Compliance and reporting services are offered for teams that prefer expert help.

The same tools serve other industries as well as aviation. Named customers and partners include Flair Airlines, ASL Group, volunt.aero, DC Aviation, Axis Aviation and Jet Craft. Transport Canada's Innovation Centre also describes a project with the company.
