AVI NDT

AVI NDT, Inc. is a nondestructive testing shop in Miami, Florida. It inspects aircraft parts and parts from other industries. Its motto is Reliability Through Quality. If the part flies, the company also repairs it and plates it.

The company splits its work in two. The aviation side covers inspection, repairs and cadmium plating. The industrial side covers nondestructive testing only, for parts that do not fly. Industrial customers include automotive, marine, construction, petrochemical and military work. The company says the job is the same everywhere. It finds what is there, documents it and leaves the customer able to defend the result.

Inspections use the same seven methods on aircraft parts and on parts from other fields. The company lists eddy current, ultrasonic, penetrant, magnetic particle, radiography, and visual and infrared testing. Work can be done in the shop, in the field or on an AOG basis. The aviation side can inspect on the aircraft or in the shop.

Repairs cover engine mounts, wheels and brakes. They include engine mount overhaul and work to airworthiness directives, service bulletins and engineering orders. AOG support is listed for cases when the aircraft cannot wait.

Cadmium plating is a coating that corrodes before the steel does. The company applies it on the line, together with the repair.

Level 3 services support the program behind the inspection. They cover written practices, technique sheets, personnel certification, internal and vendor audits, and outside Level III help. The company also teaches Level I, II and III courses. Training follows NAS-410, SNT-TC-1A and CP-189. Courses run in Miami, at the customer's site or online.
