AUVSI

AUVSI, the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International, is a non-profit, volunteer-led trade association that has supported the uncrewed systems, robotics and autonomy industry since December 1972, when it began as the National Association of Remotely Piloted Vehicles. Based at 3100 Clarendon Boulevard in Arlington, Virginia, it envisions a future in which uncrewed systems, robotics and autonomous technologies are integrated to solve critical challenges with safety and societal benefits, economic growth and enhanced national security, and its mission is to drive the industry's growth by addressing points of friction across air, ground and maritime domains.

What AUVSI does

• Connects innovators, manufacturers, operators, policymakers and users to share knowledge, convenes buyers and sellers to create market opportunities, communicates the value of uncrewed systems to the public and collaborates with policymakers on legislation and regulation
• Events: a yearlong slate of webinars, industry-focused events and cross-sector gatherings, including the AUVSI Fall Assembly on 9 and 10 November 2026 at Nationals Park in Washington, DC, which combines AUVSI Defense with the Drone and AAM Policy Symposium, plus regional chapter meetings such as the Georgia Fall Chapter Meeting
• Research and data: the Uncrewed Systems and Robotics Database, federal UAS registration intelligence built from cleaned and enriched FAA drone registration data, federal defense spending intelligence, global uncrewed systems market reports, patent filing analysis and a catalogue of uncrewed vehicle manufacturers across air, ground and maritime domains
• Certification and training programmes that let members demonstrate commitment to excellence, reliability and safety, and membership options for companies and individuals

Advocacy and content

AUVSI lends its members' voice to the national conversation on uncrewed technology, publishes commentary such as a piece arguing that American robotics needs an offence as well as defensive restrictions, and hosts webinars on topics including inertial navigation for UAVs in GPS-denied environments, scaling product development in aerospace and defence, and multisource data for port digital twins. Corporate members featured on its site include EOS, a provider of industrial 3D printing for aerospace and defence. The association offers media credentials for its events to working journalists and publishes a strategic plan for the long-term growth of autonomous technology.
