ASX (Airspace Experience Technologies)
eVTOL aircraft developer based in Los Angeles, California
About ASX
Airspace Experience Technologies, called ASX, is a startup that builds electric aircraft and air traffic systems. The site says its vision is to build eVTOL aircraft that are clean, quiet and connected. It also says ASX builds the infrastructure for connected autonomy.
ASX was established in 2017 by founder and CEO Jon Rimanelli. It grew out of Detroit Aircraft Corporation, which the site says has built over 55 eVTOL aircraft for defense, emergency response and other sectors. Sigma 6, the sixth version of the design, was described in 2022.
The Sigma 6 is a modular, multi-mission eVTOL aircraft with a flexible payload system. The site lists first response, defense, cargo and passenger uses for the aircraft.
AeroNet is the company’s universal traffic management system for advanced air mobility. The site says it helps fleet operators coordinate with other vehicles on the ground using connected Intelligent Transportation Systems technology.
Jon Rimanelli has more than three decades of experience in electronics and aerospace. He is an instrument rated seaplane pilot with over 1,000 hours of flight time. He founded Nextronix earlier, a contract electronics company.
The site invites visitors to invest, with a minimum investment of $250. The site also includes forward-looking statement disclaimers. Contact details and a mailing list sign up form are on the site.
