About Astro Access

AstroAccess is a project that promotes disability inclusion in human space exploration. The project says it wants to pave the way for disabled astronauts to fly to space. Its website is astroaccess.org.

The site says AstroAccess was founded in 2021. It has run seven microgravity missions on parabolic flights with Zero Gravity Corporation. Disabled scientists, veterans, students, athletes and artists have taken part as ambassadors.

The project says its mission is to advance universal design on Earth and beyond. It says it works with aerospace industry and disability leaders on accessibility for the next generation of space vehicles, habitats and architecture.

The site says the goal is to fly a diverse range of people to space, starting with parabolic flights. It says the aim is to make sure 15 percent of humanity is not excluded from space. The site also lists a crew page and a page for its advisory team.

The site reports that in December 2025, ambassador Michaela Michi Benthaus became the first wheelchair user in space. In July 2025, the project announced a collaboration with Blue Origin on accessibility in spaceflight.

The organizing team has more than 70 people, including current and former NASA scientists, engineers and directors. The site says donations support the mission. The crew application is marked as closed. The contact page offers a form and social media accounts.
