About ASL Aviation Holdings

ASL Aviation Holdings is a global aviation group that runs airlines on several continents. Its airlines fly in Europe and Australia, and its associate airlines fly in South Africa, Thailand and India. The group says it serves more than 150 airports worldwide.

ASL has been in aviation for more than five decades. About 4,000 aviation staff of 57 nationalities work across the group. The company says it treats every customer as if they were its only customer.

Much of ASL's work is air cargo. For many years its airlines have flown for express parcel companies and postal networks. Today it also works with some of the world's largest e-commerce firms. Alongside cargo, the group does passenger flying, ACMI and leasing.

ASL runs a fleet of more than 150 aircraft of eight types. The fleet is mostly freighters, from the Boeing 747-400F down to the ATR 72 turboprop. The group says it has the largest European fleet of Boeing 737 freighters. It also says it is the world's largest operator of the 737-800 converted freighter.

The turboprop fleet includes ATR 72-200, ATR 72-500 and ATR 72-600 freighters. ASL says it was the first operator of the custom-built ATR 72-600 freighter. The jet fleet has Boeing 737-800 and 737-400 freighters, which are its biggest groups of aircraft. Widebody freighters include the Boeing 747-400, the Airbus A330-300 and the Airbus A300-600. The group has fleet renewal and conversion programmes under way.

ASL says it builds partnerships with customers and treats their brands as its own. It aims to keep its capabilities up to date with what customers need. Recent news items cover the purchase of two Boeing 747-400ERF aircraft, growth in Australia and New Zealand, and a refinancing of its credit facility. The group also lists career pages for people who want to work in aviation.
