About ASA Software

ASA Software is a Danish company in Sønderborg, Denmark, that builds software for aviation maintenance and airworthiness organisations. Its main product is SAM, short for Simplifying Aircraft Maintenance. SAM puts airworthiness, maintenance and supply chain in one system on one database, so nothing is entered twice.

The company was established in 1988. It began by providing services to control airworthiness directives and service bulletins in Denmark. Over time it grew that work into a full airworthiness and maintenance system. It stays privately owned and independent, and it puts most of its profit back into development, people and improvements.

SAM is made for small and mid-sized aviation organisations. The company says it is not a cut-down airline platform. Instead it is built for operators that need strong features without the cost of big enterprise software. It serves general aviation, helicopters, commercial aircraft, and defence and government operators. Defence and government users can run it locally and keep full ownership of their data.

The airworthiness side covers continuing airworthiness, maintenance planning and compliance, with clear views of directives, service bulletins, inspections and aircraft status. The maintenance side covers planning, forecasting, work tracking, traceability and supply chain. SAM workflows follow Part-M, Part-CAMO, Part-CAO and Part-145. The system keeps an audit trail from engineering instruction to work order close-out.

ASA Software also offers two apps. The SAM Aviation app lets technicians record work digitally, cut paperwork and track upcoming, ongoing and completed tasks. The SAM Inventory app lets staff count stock with a handheld scanner that syncs with SAM.

The company built its own data migration tools to make switching systems faster. Its support and onboarding team includes former CAMO engineers and aviation staff. The company is working toward ISO 27001 certification. Its key dates include the SAM SaaS launch in 2002, SAM CMMS in 2022 and the SAM Inventory app in 2026. It works from near Sønderborg Airport.
