Archangel Systems

Archangel Systems is an avionics maker based in Auburn, Alabama. The company builds air data and attitude heading reference systems, called ADAHRS and AHRS. It also builds data controllers that help older and newer avionics work together.

The company was founded in 1992 in Auburn to advance general aviation avionics, especially new EFIS technology. In 1995 it released a touchscreen primary flight display. Its AF1000 line included an AHRS and a 10.4 inch touchscreen PFD.

In 2004 the company began work on a MEMS-based ADAHRS with Bell Helicopter, for fly-by-wire tiltrotor aircraft. That work produced the AHR150A ADAHRS. The FAA gave the AHR150A TSO certification in 2010. The AHR75 received FAA TSO approval in 2016.

The Freedom 1 is a drop-in AHRS for the PC-12. The site says it replaces obsolete units with no panel modifications. The site also lists eVTOL and OEM solutions, government and defense products, and custom avionics engineering. The company says it is part of four type certificates and works with DO-178 Level A software.

The site says the company has more than 15 authorized dealers and over 2,500 LRUs in service worldwide. It holds AS9100 certification and operates as a Part 145 repair station. The 2023 AFC001AC converts digital data to synchro signals for legacy gyros.
