APS Aerospace

APS Aerospace is a flight data company based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It helps airlines, operators and accident investigators get useful answers from flight data. Its aim is to advance aviation safety and efficiency through technology.

The company was created in 2021 when AIRINC and Plane Sciences joined forces. Its team has more than 100 years of combined experience in flight data analysis. That work covers both accident investigation after an event and accident prevention before one happens.

APS offers flight data monitoring, flight data analysis and flight operations quality assurance, often called FDM, FDA and FOQA. These programs help operators spot risks in daily flying and make operations more efficient.

The company also sells flight data software called lumina. It includes tools for analysis, two-dimensional plots and three-dimensional animation, so investigators and safety teams can see how a flight unfolded.

Other services include flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder readouts, and accident investigation support. APS also keeps a Datamap Library, which supports the reading of flight data. The company describes its people as hands-on experts in flight data analysis technology.
