About Airport Improvement Magazine

Airport Improvement Magazine is a United States trade publication about airport infrastructure projects. It writes for the professionals who plan, design and build them.

The magazine says it gives targeted information about airport infrastructure projects to the people who make them happen. It publishes print and digital issues, and its website also carries a digital edition, a magazine archive, videos and white papers. Readers can subscribe, and companies can advertise or nominate people or projects.

Its articles are sorted into many topics. These include airside, baggage, cargo, concessions and retail, emergency operations, environmental, fuel operations, general aviation, ground support and hangars. Others cover IT and communications, landside development, operations, parking, passenger transport, runway and ramp, security, sustainability and terminals. It also runs an Industry Insider section, a publisher's column and an Artscapes section.

Many stories look at real airport projects. A terminal feature covered a 160 million dollar expansion at Glacier Park International Airport. Another looked at how Seattle-Tacoma International Airport is building up its C Concourse instead of out. A runway story described how San Antonio International Airport rehabilitated a runway in eight weeks using a construction manager at risk method. The magazine has also covered a waste programme at Seattle-Tacoma that requires compostable takeout packaging and reusable dishware.

Alongside features, the site posts daily airport news. Topics include new airline routes, passenger numbers, airport reports and concession openings. It also reports on suppliers, such as a passenger flow technology chosen for Toronto Pearson, and on executive hires at airports.

The publisher lists teams for editing, art and production, social media, circulation and advertising sales.
