About Airline Accessory Service Company
Airline Accessory Service Company LLC, known as AASCO, is an FAA, EASA and Thai CAAT certified Part 145 repair station. It is located in Hamden, Connecticut, about 70 miles northeast of New York City. The company works from an 18,000 square foot facility.
AASCO specializes in repair and overhaul of galley inserts, pneumatic starters and valves, electric starter generators, wheels and brakes, fire extinguishers and oxygen cylinders. It also handles safety equipment of many types. Its customers include commercial, corporate, commuter and military operators. The company says its edge includes in-house machining and quality services.
Its work covers aircraft built by Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, McDonnell Douglas and Sikorsky, among others. The company covers ATA chapters 21, 25, 27, 36, 49, 57, 71, 72, 75 and 80. It also provides detailed incoming inspection and fault isolation testing.
The in-house machine shop offers lathe turning, cylindrical grinding, milling, jig boring, honing, surface grinding and lapping. Computerized static and dynamic balancing can handle parts up to 500 pounds. Thermal spray coatings are applied to OEM specifications.
Non-destructive testing is done in house, including magnetic particle, fluorescent penetrant and eddy current inspection. Level III inspectors supervise the work. Standard shop practices include cleaning, detailed inspection of electrical components, balancing, NDT and painting. The company also performs DOT hydrostatic testing.
The wheel and brake shop handles corporate and narrow body aircraft. The company says turnaround for wheels and brakes in the region is three to five days. It uses its own transportation for pick-up and delivery across the northeast, so customers do not have to ship oxygen assemblies as hazardous goods. Most oxygen assemblies are serviced and returned in three to five days.
Staff have more than 80 years of combined aviation experience. The team focuses on accurate and timely quotes and on-time delivery scheduling. Through a rewind facility, the company also repairs and holds stators and armatures for its customers.
