CargoAi says its AI agents now handle most routine email work for air cargo airlines and forwarders. The company shared two years of production data at the TIACA Air Cargo Forum in Miami on 30 October 2026.

Matt Petot, founder and CEO of CargoAi, presented the results at the CargoTech press conference. CargoAi has built its platform since 2019. A single AI agent has been in production since October 2024.

What the agents do

The agents read quote requests, answer airline customer mailboxes, draft quotes for forwarders and chat with customers on WhatsApp. CargoAi says this frees staff to work on shipments instead of the inbox.

The numbers CargoAi reported

  • The AI read 446,000 shipment requests, at 1.6 seconds each. CargoAi puts the time saved at about 37,000 hours, or roughly 13 full-time staff per month.
  • AirAgent, the tool for airline mailboxes, handled 105,000 customer emails this year, including 25,000 in October.
  • Forwarders created 400,000 quotes in 2026 so far. CargoAi estimates Auto Quote returns about 87,000 hours.
  • In the last 12 months, 6,935 forwarding companies searched live rates. 209 airlines supply rates.

CargoAi based these estimates on 5 minutes saved per request or email and 13 minutes per forwarder quote. It also noted that nine in ten priced searches are still quoted to shippers by hand.

What customers said

Carole Longe, product manager at STRACKER, said the AI agents turn airline data into quotations "within minutes, instead of hours." Flexport's airfreight head, Alexis Boutet, described how CargoAi rates and schedules feed Flexport's systems through an API and an MCP connector.
