Swiss charter broker Simply Jet has bought FlyTyrol, an Austrian operator based in Innsbruck. Corporate Jet Investor reported the deal on 30 October 2026. It says the deal closed in early September.
What Simply Jet gets
Simply Jet takes over FlyTyrol's air operator certificate, which was issued by Austro Control, the Austrian aviation authority. FlyTyrol keeps its name and its 14 staff.
The company flies four aircraft from Innsbruck and Salzburg. Two are available for charter: a Cessna Citation M2 and a Citation CJ3+. The other two are managed for private owners: a Citation CJ2+ and a Citation XLS. The price was not made public.
A planned handover
The sale is part of a succession plan. Founder Helmut Eder says he is proud to see the work of more than two decades continue under the Simply Jet name. He plans to step down in 2027. Philipp Jarnoth will then become managing director.
Simply Jet says the purchase supports its aim to become a key player in aircraft management. It wants to have 10 aircraft under management by 2030.
Why it matters
Charter brokers often rely on other companies' aircraft. Owning an operator gives Simply Jet its own certificate and its own planes in the Alps, where Innsbruck and Salzburg are busy with ski traffic in winter.
