The Royal Australian Air Force will hold an air show over Perth on Sunday 12 September 2027, the first in the city for 15 years. The Minister for Defence Personnel, Matt Keogh, announced the date on 1 October 2026. Flying displays run over the Swan River from 2 pm to 5 pm, with a ground display at Langley Park open from 10 am to 6 pm. The event is non-ticketed and open to the public.

What is planned

Defence names Langley Park, the Swan River foreshore and Kings Park as the expected vantage points for the flying. The ground display at Langley Park will show military equipment, give the public a chance to talk to Australian Defence Force personnel and present ADF careers. The flying programme has not been published yet; the Defence media note points journalists to footage of the F-35A Lightning II, the F/A-18F Super Hornet and the Roulettes display team from recent RAAF air shows.

The minister tied the show to RAAF Base Pearce, north of Perth, which he described as the only permanently operational RAAF base in the west. Pearce hosts pilot training, supports international partners and is one of the busiest RAAF bases in the country. Air Commodore Micka Gray, the Air Force's Head of Air Shows, said the aviators are "ready to come back to Perth".

The release does not say which site hosted the last Perth show or how the 2027 date fits the Air Force's wider air show programme. Updates will be posted on the Air Force website and its social media channels.

What it means for WA aviation and defence suppliers

This is a public show, not a trade exhibition, so there is no exhibitor list and no stand space. What it does give is a day when ADF aircraft, equipment and people are in the centre of Perth in front of a large crowd, and a reason for Western Australian companies to be visible around it. Aviation businesses in the state, many of them at Jandakot, include the Western Australian Aviation College, the Royal Aero Club of Western Australia, Heliwest, Aero Jacks, Skippers Aviation and Maroomba Airlines.

Suppliers looking for a trade setting have other Australian dates on our calendar first. The Avalon Australian International Airshow runs from 23 to 28 February 2027 at Avalon Airport, Geelong, organised by the AMDA Foundation, with the Australian International Aerospace Congress in Melbourne the same week. MRO Australasia is in Brisbane on 10 and 11 November 2026, and the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition follows in Sydney from 2 to 4 November 2027.

The Perth date, times and official links are on our RAAF Air Show Perth 2027 event page, and the full list of Australian dates is on the aviation events calendar.
