Luxair Orders Additional Embraer E195-E2 Jets
Luxair, the flag carrier of Luxembourg, has expanded its commitment to Embraer’s next-generation E2 family with a firm order for two additional E195-E2 aircraft. This follows the airline’s 2023 order for four E195-E2s, bringing the total on order to six. Luxair also retains three purchase rights, with flexibility to switch to the smaller E190-E2 if needed.
The first delivery from the 2023 order is scheduled for early 2026, marking the start of Luxair’s fleet renewal. With these new aircraft, the airline secures delivery slots into 2027, ensuring a steady introduction of modern, fuel-efficient jets. This move aligns with Luxair’s focus on sustainable growth, quieter operations, and an improved customer experience.
Advancing Efficiency and Comfort
Powered by advanced engines, the E195-E2 offers superior fuel efficiency and reduced noise emissions, supporting Luxair’s sustainability goals. The cabin will feature a two-by-two layout with no middle seats and stylish Recaro seats—ensuring a comfortable flight for all passengers.
Future-Ready Fleet
Gilles Feith, CEO of Luxair, emphasized how the E195-E2 will “mark the beginning of a new era,” delivering greener flights and enhanced regional connectivity. According to Marie-Louise Philippe, SVP Sales and Marketing at Embraer Commercial Aviation, the E2’s low noise, reduced environmental footprint, and operational flexibility perfectly align with Luxair’s long-term strategy.
With the E195-E2, Luxair takes a decisive step towards a more sustainable, passenger-friendly fleet, positioning itself as a forward-looking regional carrier in Europe.
