Wisconsin Aviation - Madison

Wisconsin Aviation's Madison base is at Dane County Regional Airport (KMSN), on the east side of the field at 3606 Corben Court. The company, founded in Watertown in 1981 by Jeff Baum and a partner, bought the Four Lakes Aviation assets in Madison on 1 January 1994 and Coldstream Aviation in 1995. A general aviation terminal opened on the site in December 2002 and an avionics hangar in the Technical Services Complex followed in 2008. Jeff Baum is President. The group has more than 140 employees and a fleet of over 50 aircraft across Madison, Watertown and Juneau.

Cirrus services

The maintenance page shows Cirrus and Cessna as the manufacturers for which Wisconsin Aviation is an authorized service center. The Madison avionics shop lists Cirrus Perspective and Garmin G1000 service and Avidyne MFD, PFD and R9 service among its work. Maintenance and avionics

Maintenance is done by A&P and IA mechanics and covers piston and turbine inspections, annual and 100-hour inspections, Citation airframe and engine inspections, Williams FJ44 inspections, Cessna Conquest II engine rigging, dynamic propeller balancing, physical reweighs, airframe and composite repairs, corrosion inhibitor application, pre-purchase inspections, battery servicing, computerised tracking and AD research, owner-assisted annuals and parts. Estimates are free, there is a 24-hour on-call service and owners can be picked up and dropped off. The Madison maintenance line is (608) 268-5033. The avionics facility at (608) 268-5006 does custom installations and panel fabrication, ADS-B, in-house bench repairs, autopilot and weather radar service, RVSM inspections and software updates, with loaner equipment and free training on new equipment.

FBO and flight school

The Madison FBO charges no ramp fees and offers hangar rental and fuelling for based, transient and airline aircraft. The flight school, reachable at (608) 268-5024, runs training from private pilot upwards and works with Madison College on a fast-track professional aeronautics certificate. The group also runs air charter, aircraft sales and aircraft management.
