About Vine Grove Airport

Vine Grove Airport is a family-owned airport in Vine Grove, Kentucky. It is located about five miles south of Fort Knox. The airport has a 2,700 foot grass runway and uses unicom frequency 122.9.

The airport is owned and operated by Dennie Morris and his wife, Julia. Dennie's father, Randy Morris, owned and ran the airport for many years with partners Bob Nall and Luke Nall. Randy died in 2017, and Dennie and Julia took over the airport.

The site says the airport once offered tiedown space, hangar rental and flight training. Randy also offered aircraft maintenance and inspection in the main hangar. Flight training stopped in the early 2000s, but maintenance and hangar rental continued. The family is now bringing flight training back.

The site lists a tailwheel endorsement and a basic aerobatics course. Tailwheel training is offered in partnership with Greg Koontz. Dennie Morris is the owner and an A and P mechanic.

Charlie Morris is a certified flight instructor and the son of Dennie and Julia. He began flying lessons in gliders at age 14. He soloed the family Champ at age 16. He served six years in the Army as a UAV operator. He holds a commercial license, an instrument rating and a flight instructor rating.

The airport's address is 101 Airport Road, Vine Grove, KY 40175. The phone number is (270) 877-0131. The site lists contact details for Dennie Morris and Charlie Morris. It also has a gallery and a links page.
