About Vancouver International Airport
Vancouver International Airport, known as YVR, serves Vancouver, British Columbia, in Canada. The Vancouver Airport Authority runs it. The airport handles passenger flights and cargo, and it offers parking, shops, restaurants and ground transport. In 2026 it was voted Best Airport in North America in a global award.
The award note credits more than 26,000 airport workers for the strength of its operations. Passengers can check arriving and departing flights, check-in details, and a list of airlines and destinations. Travel planning help covers arriving, departing and connecting through the airport. It also covers biometrics, travelling with pets and travelling with children.
Parking is a key service. Travellers can book parking in advance. Options include Airport South Parking and a cell phone waiting area for drivers who are picking someone up. Other ways to reach the airport include public transport, taxis, car rentals, courtesy shuttles, a car share service, group arrivals areas and routes for cyclists. Porter services are also available.
Inside the terminal, passengers find places to eat, shop and use services. These include duty free shops, local products, currency exchange and luggage services. Terminal maps and security information help travellers find their way. A lost and found service is available.
The airport runs a wide set of accessibility services. They include accessible transport, quiet spaces, a travel rehearsal program, animal relief areas, self-service kiosks and customer care. The airport also publishes an accessibility plan and a way to give feedback.
For business, YVR works with airlines on air services and handles cargo. It offers leasing and land development, and it publishes fees and charges. A North Runway Modernization project is listed among its corporate work. Its wider work covers the environment, noise management, community ties, an innovation hub and a relationship with the Musqueam. It also keeps an office in Hong Kong and offers permits, passes and training for airside vehicles.
