University of Nebraska at Omaha Aviation Institute

The Aviation Institute at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) teaches collegiate aviation from the College of Public Affairs and Community Service building on UNO's Dodge Campus in Omaha. It was founded in 1990 with backing from Omaha civic and business leaders and the Omaha Airport Authority. The Institute prepares students for careers as pilots, airport and airline managers, and uncrewed aircraft operators, and also carries out aviation and transportation research for the State of Nebraska.

Flight training

Flight training is delivered by partner providers Revv Aviation at Council Bluffs (KCBF) and Oracle Aviation at Millard Airport (KMLE). The Professional Flight programme is FAA-approved for Restricted ATP eligibility, which allows graduates to be hired by a Part 121 airline at age 21 with 1,000 hours. UNO estimates flight training costs at about $78,500 from private pilot through CFI, paid to the provider. The Advanced Simulation Facility has Redbird simulators and a Boeing 737 flight training device.
