University Air Center

University Air Center (Gulf Atlantic Airways, Inc.) is the only FBO at Gainesville Regional Airport (KGNV), 4701 NE 40th Terrace, Gainesville, Florida. It was founded in 1981 and is the longest standing business on the field. Dr Mike and Judy Lukowski bought it from the founder in 1989; Mike Lukowski is CEO and Director of Flight Operations, and their son Dr Zach Lukowski became President in 2023. The company is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and pumps about 4.1 million gallons of fuel a year.

Cirrus services

The website calls UAC a fully authorized Cirrus Service Center with experience across the Cirrus range from the SR20 to the SF50. It says it has replaced CAPS parachutes in SR22 aircraft for over 10 years, with more than 40 installations done. The maintenance department was established in 1989 and has a stocked parts department, an FAA approved avionics repair station and an AOG vehicle for trips across the Southeast. The site also lists UAC as a Williams FJ33-5A service center, the engine fitted to the Vision Jet; the Cirrus locator does not list FJ33 service for this center. Cirrus Aircraft's locator lists the following:

Other maintenance

UAC is an authorized Cessna Service Station and Cessna Caravan Service Center and services single engine Cessna and Beechcraft aircraft. It has worked on the Eclipse jet for close to 20 years and has the diagnostic tools to read its systems. The Part 145 avionics repair station is a Garmin dealer.

FBO, charter and training

Line service handles general aviation, commercial and military traffic around the clock, with fuel, ground handling, hangar space and concierge services. Fuel prices published on 13 October 2026 were Jet A US$7.80, Avgas US$7.76 full service and US$7.11 self serve per gallon. The Part 135 charter operation flies about 1,500 medical missions a year, mostly organ transplant flights, with two jets convertible to air ambulance use, and manages two Cessna Grand Caravans for LifeSouth Community Blood Center. The fleet of 18 aircraft includes a Citation CJ3+, Citation Ultra and SP, an Eclipse, a Piper Aztec and Cirrus, Cessna and Piper pistons. The Part 141 flight school offers airplane training and helicopter training through a partner, and the site hosts a PSI exam center for FAA knowledge tests. On University of Florida football game days reservations are encouraged.
