About The ePlane Company

The ePlane Company is an Indian electric aircraft developer based in Bangalore, with an address at IIT Madras Research Park in Chennai. It was incorporated as Ubifly Technologies Pvt. Ltd. in 2019 at the IIT Madras incubation cell. Prof. Satya Chakravarthy is the founder and technical lead.

Its main aircraft is the e200X, an all electric vertical take off and landing machine. The site says it is 8 by 11 metres, small enough to fit on a hospital rooftop helipad. It has ten propulsion units, six for vertical lift and four for forward flight. The stated cruise speed is 160 km/h and the range is 110 km on one charge.

The company plans the e200X for air ambulance, air cargo and air taxi use. The air ambulance setup seats a pilot, a patient and a paramedic. It is said to hold a standard stretcher and a life support suite. A cold chain option is listed for organs and blood.

The site reports milestones. A DGCA Design Organisation Approval came in 2023. The DGCA accepted the type certification application for the e200X in 2024. In 2025 it showed the full scale airframe design. In 2026 it unveiled the first full scale prototype at a 60,000 square foot site at Thaiyur. It names partners such as NVIDIA, HENSOLDT Avionics and AMS Heli, and a commitment from ICATT Air Ambulance.

The company lists a target of completing DGCA type certification in 2027 to 2028. The site has a contact page with department choices, including partnership and careers.
