About TerraNIS SAS

TerraNIS SAS is a French company that sells satellite imagery services and decision tools. It is based in Toulouse, France, and also has a subsidiary in Chile. It was founded in March 2014 by Marc Tondriaux and David Hello. Both worked on space applications for over 25 years within the Airbus group.

The company works in Earth observation for farming, wine growing, forests and land management. Its stated mission is to help farmers and regions use natural resources well and prepare for climate change. It has nearly 20 employees, and about 25 percent of sales go to research and development.

Its services are grouped by sector. Precision farming covers irrigation, crop growth monitoring and cover crops. Precision viticulture covers harvest planning, water stress detection and input savings. Land management includes mapping green areas in cities and finding urban heat islands. The forest service covers tree species, burnt areas and regrowth.

The site gives examples of its work. One project mapped hedges, groves and single trees across the Champagne appellation, about 34,000 hectares, for the wine trade body CIVC. Another produced Oenoview maps for Moët and Chandon to guide fertiliser use on nearly 1,200 hectares of vines.

The team mixes skills in remote sensing with farming or land planning. Customers are in France and Europe, and also in South America, Africa and Asia. The company says it looks for commercial or technical partners to add to its offer and to give local service. The website offers contact links.
