TAS Aviation

TAS Aviation is an aviation company based at Defiance Memorial Airport in Defiance, Ohio. It offers aircraft maintenance, flight training and aircraft sales. Much of its work centres on twin Cessna aircraft, especially the Cessna 310. The company also has a second location at Allen County Regional Airport in Lima, Ohio.

The site says the company started in 1976 as the operator of the Defiance County Airport. Its early work was keeping aircraft based at the airport in good shape. Later, the company flew a fleet of twin Cessnas each night across the eastern United States. That work built its knowledge of the Cessna 310 and its systems.

In 1992, TAS took part in the Around The World Air Race. The team outfitted a Cessna 310R with long range fuel tanks, extra safety equipment and advanced avionics for the race.
