About Take Flight Aviation

Take Flight Aviation is a flying club and flight school in Oxfordshire, in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 2006 by Mike Roberts at Wellesbourne Airfield in Warwickshire. Its address on the site is Enstone Airfield, Church Enstone. It also names Shenington Airfield and London Oxford Airport.

At its peak the club had over 300 members and a fleet of 16 aircraft. The site says the owners of Wellesbourne Airfield planned to build housing there and the company lost its lease. After the move to Enstone and London Oxford, it lost over two thirds of its members. It scaled down in November 2024. The flying school work was taken over by Enstone Airlines and Enstone Ventures.

Today the company runs a private non-equity syndicate group around a Cessna 172 SP Skyhawk at Wellesbourne Airfield. Members pay a monthly subscription and pay separately for fuel and oil. Bookings, maintenance schedules and payments run through Plogbook. Members can use instructors for renewals, revalidations, check-out flights and added ratings. The club offers pilots all hour access to the aircraft.

The site lists awards, including Stratford upon Avon Small Business of the Year in 2017, Aviation Business of the Year in 2019 and UK Best Flying Club in 2020. It also has a video series called Cockpit Conversations, fly-out galleries and a safety hazard report form.

The contact page has an enquiry form with branch choices and an experience level question.
