Synergy Flight Center

Synergy Flight Center is a flight school, FBO and FAA Part 145 maintenance shop at Central Illinois Regional Airport (KBMI) in Bloomington, Illinois, roughly halfway between Chicago and St. Louis. Cirrus Aircraft lists it as an Authorized Service Center and Training Center, and it is a Garmin service center.

Cirrus services

Synergy publishes its Cirrus shop rates, which is unusual among service centers: $175 per hour for Cirrus maintenance and $175 per hour for Cirrus avionics work, effective 1 January 2026. Cirrus Aircraft's locator lists the following at Bloomington:

Full SF50 service plus CAPS overhaul at one Part 145 shop makes Synergy one of the more complete Cirrus centers in the Midwest.

Cirrus training

As a Cirrus Training Center, Synergy teaches in Cirrus aircraft under the Cirrus syllabus. The school is also a Cessna Pilot Center with a scenario-based course, and offers intensive private pilot packages, flight reviews, instrument proficiency checks, a multi-engine add-on and upset recovery training in a Pitts S-2C. Training equipment includes a Redbird FMX simulator and a Laser Grade testing facility for FAA knowledge tests.

FBO

The FBO side of the business handles fuel, hangars and ground services at KBMI.

What the Cirrus listing means

Cirrus Aircraft publishes its own locator of authorized service centers and lists the qualifications each center holds. An Authorized Service Center is approved by Cirrus for warranty and maintenance work on the SR series; a Platinum Service Center is the higher tier Cirrus awards to selected centers. Synergy is listed as an SF50 full service maintenance facility, a CAPS overhaul center and a Training Center. The parachute system (CAPS) has a 10-year overhaul and a 6-year line cutter replacement, and only centers listed for CAPS overhaul do that work in house.
