Sporty’s Academy

Sporty's Academy is a flight school at Clermont County Airport, also called I69. The site says the airport is just east of Cincinnati, Ohio. Sporty's Pilot Shop is also based at the airport. The site describes the airport as a small, lively place for student pilots.

The school offers pilot training courses, a discovery flight experience, accelerated training and pilot ground schools. It also trains international students and offers FAA written testing and medical exams. The site lists scholarships, renters insurance and help with travel and lodging for students.

The school's 2025 course update adds Aviation Intelligence tools, video lessons and flight simulation. The site also says that instructors now need an endorsement before taking the Fundamentals of Instruction knowledge test. The change started on September 1, 2024, when the FAA's test provider made it a requirement.

The site says the flight instructors include Gold Seal flight instructors and Master flight instructors. It says the school's founder, Hal Shevers, is a long-time flight instructor and a member of the National Flight Instructor Hall of Fame. The site says the school gives strict supervision to each student's flight training.

For pilots who fly in, the airport is on the Cincinnati Sectional chart. Pilots can enter I69 as a direct-to point in a GPS. The full-service FBO sells TITAN Aviation AvGas and Jet A fuel. It has relaxation areas with internet access, plus food and drinks.

The site has an online schedule, a customer portal, a safety reporting page and a flying club. The school's phone number is 513.735.9500. The site also lists local weather pages for the Clermont County Airport.
