Smartshooter
Smartshooter makes SMASH fire control systems that help rifles and remote weapon stations hit moving targets, from Israel.
About Smartshooter
Smartshooter is an Israeli company that develops fire control systems for small arms. The site says its SMASH systems significantly increase weapon accuracy against static and moving targets, on the ground and in the air, day and night. The head office is at Kibbutz Yagur, Israel.
The SMASH X4 combines an x4 magnifying scope with fire control. It has an etched reticle that works without battery power, and an integrated laser range finder. The SMASH 2000L (3000) is described as the newest system, with less weight and size. The SMASH Hopper 5000 is a modular remote-controlled weapon station that weighs around 15 kg.
The site says the handheld SMASH system can be fitted to any assault rifle and needs minimal training. It uses image processing to recognise a target and predict its movement. It keeps the lock while the shooter or the target moves. The system then helps the shooter hit the target at the right moment.
The site lists use cases for special forces, hostage situations and counter drone work. It says the SMASH family can counter small drones with hard-kill fire control. It also describes the systems as part of a micro-tactical network that shares real-time awareness.
The site, quoting a Forbes article from 2020, says Michal Mor and Avshalom Ehrlich have worked on the system since 2011. Mor is chief executive officer and Ehrlich is chief technology officer. The technology is based on artificial intelligence, computer vision and machine learning.
The site lists offices in Herndon, Virginia, United States, Mettmann, Germany, and Barton, Australian Capital Territory. It also has a how-to-purchase page and a press and events section. Social links cover LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and X.
