Sky-Drones
AIRLink AI flight controller with 4G and 5G, plus drones and cloud tools
About Sky-Drones
Sky-Drones builds connected hardware and software for drone makers and for commercial drone service providers. The company is a limited company based in London. Its aim is to speed up how fast enterprises can adopt unmanned aircraft.
AIRLink
AIRLink is the main product. The name stands for Artificial Intelligence and Remote Link. One unit holds a drone autopilot, an AI mission computer and a cellular link. Sky-Drones sells versions with LTE and with 5G. It says the unit can cut the time to market for an enterprise drone from years or months to a few weeks, and it advises deep integration for experienced teams.
Ground station and cloud
- ATLAS handheld controller: a light, IP rated ground station with a computer, a broadband datalink, HD video, LTE and a touchscreen.
- Cloud web application: fleet management, performance monitoring, mission planning, real time control and AI analysis after flight.
- Accessories: the shop also lists telemetry, navigation, power, cables and other parts.
AI features
The company lists several AI functions for its aircraft. These include navigation without GNSS using visual positioning, object detection and tracking, swarm coordination, and threat analysis in real time.
Drones
Sky-Drones also sells ready to fly drones that run on AIRLink. One electric VTOL model is built for BVLOS flying and lists up to 5 hours of endurance and payloads up to 50 kg. A second VTOL lists up to 14 hours, a range of 1,500 km and payloads up to 45 kg. A third model flies for one hour with AI and 5G onboard. Uses include delivery, precision agriculture, inspection and mapping.
Sky-Drones also publishes online documentation for its public products and lists software integrations for drone manufacturers.
The company has won Innovate UK funding for the Future Flight Phase II and Phase III projects RISE, ALIAS and BLUEPRINT.
