About SimCom Corporation

Simcom by CAE Aviation Training is a flight training company in the United States. It trains pilots and maintenance staff on general aviation, business and commercial aircraft. It also teaches special courses on upset recovery, crew resource management, high altitude flying and avionics.

Training is held at four learning centers. Two are in Orlando, Florida, and a third is in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company says its simulators are built with real aircraft and avionics parts. They use wrap around visual displays and realistic handling. The company says its team of aviation professionals sets it apart, and flexible lessons let instructors adjust training to each customer. Both the FAA and several other aviation authorities certify the simulators.

The company offers a 360 program. It has a three day recurrent course. Six months later, pilots take a one day elective flight session set to their own needs. This can be done in an aircraft or in a simulator at a training location.

Upset training is a key subject. Aviation Performance Solutions provides upset prevention and recovery training with Simcom. Patty Wagstaff, an airshow performer and three time national aerobatic champion, also teaches upset recovery in her Extra 300L. The site shares pilot comments that praise this work.

The company also offers hypoxia training with Southern AeroMedical Institute. Hypoxia means a lack of oxygen. The program is called DeSat and uses slow onset training for each person. It can be booked along with aircraft training.

Online learning is available too. The company partners with CAE on more than 80 eLearning courses. They cover general operating subjects and courses for Bombardier aircraft.

The company works with the Veterans Airlift Command. It gives recurrent training at no charge to the volunteer pilot who completes the most missions in the nine months after training. The website lists courses and a phone line for booking.
