About RMB Products

RMB Products makes custom plastic parts and engineered polymer products. Its work focuses on three areas. These are aerospace parts, corrosion protection and high purity uses. High purity means clean systems, such as those used in chip making.

The company uses three main processes. These are rotational molding, rotational lining and additive manufacturing, which is also known as 3D printing. Rotational molding forms hollow parts by turning a mold as it heats. Rotational lining coats the inside of a tank or pipe with a plastic layer.

RMB has a 94,000 square foot headquarters in Fountain, Colorado. The site holds the rotational lining, rotational molding and additive manufacturing work. It also has an ISO Class 7 clean room and the quality control area. The company uses its own resins and its long production experience to make durable thermoplastic parts.

The history starts in 1963. William Gardiner founded the company in Simi Valley, California. In the 1960s and 70s it sold a patented waste receptacle, a plastic lined container in a market once led by metal. In 1980, the company moved into fluoropolymers. With a materials supplier, it learned to rotationally mold Teflon PFA. This led to process vessels for the semiconductor industry.

In 1986, an aerospace client asked RMB to develop a polyamide foam for aircraft interiors. The foam is no longer used at the company. The project led to more work in aerospace. The website has a quote request page for aerospace solutions.

Customers can also use RMB for fabrication, machining, testing, assembly, painting and shipping. The company says that no two projects are the same. It works with each client on a custom answer for tight specifications.

The site shows case studies. One covers an antimicrobial pipe liner for an oil and gas customer, using RMB BIO-ARMOR to resist corrosion and growth of organisms. Another covers a chip equipment maker that saved 10 to 15 percent on molded dosing bottles. The site also shares articles on laser sintering and on choosing ETFE or PTFE linings, and lists job openings.
