About Redstart Aero

Redstart Aero is a new manufacturing joint venture set up for the Moroccan aerospace industry. Its focus is precision machining, the making of tight-tolerance mechanical parts for aircraft programs.

Who is behind it

Two Irish engineering firms are creating the venture. DPF Engineering is based in Carlow. Shannon Precision Engineering is based in Clare. Each already makes precision parts, and together they are opening a plant in Morocco.

Why Morocco

The two partners say the plant has two goals. The first is to serve their existing customers better. The second is to support new manufacturing partnerships with aerospace companies based in Morocco.

Morocco has a growing aerospace supply chain, and a local machining plant puts the owners close to the firms that buy parts there.

What to know

  • The business makes high-precision mechanical parts for aerospace.
  • It is a joint venture between two Irish precision engineering companies.
  • The company is working on a website built around the Moroccan market.
  • Details such as the exact site, machines and approvals are not yet published.

Because the venture is new, there is little public detail on its plant, equipment or customer list. Aerospace buyers in Morocco who want machined parts can contact the company directly to ask about capacity and timing.
