About Quickstep Group

Quickstep makes advanced composite parts for aerospace and defence. Composites are light, strong materials, often made from carbon fibre. The company says it is Australia's largest independent aerospace and composites business. It serves defence and commercial aerospace customers and other advanced industries.

The company has a 16,000 square metre composite plant at Bankstown Airport in Sydney, New South Wales. Over 150 people work for the company. The site can engineer, make and test composite parts to aerospace and defence standards. Quickstep says its systems and processes hold international accreditations.

Quickstep is an approved supplier for the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter program. It supplies more than 30 individual components, with parts on every aircraft built. It is also Lockheed Martin's sole supplier of composite wing flaps for the C-130J Super Hercules military transport.

The customer list includes Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Boeing Defense and Marand. The company says it offers a reliable supply of lightweight composite parts and can work at scale. It also says it provides creative thinking along with competitive pricing.

The company describes itself as more than a parts maker. It says it offers complete solutions. Its engineers advise on customer design plans, design tooling and build the prototype. They then move on to final production. The team uses its own process technology.

The company states that it aims to make aerospace products lighter, safer, stronger and more sustainable. It names defence, clean technology and other advanced sectors among its markets. It states that its vision is to be a global provider of advanced composite solutions.

The website also covers company news. In March 2025, it posted a scheme booklet for a proposed takeover of Quickstep by ASDAM Operations. The site also describes the work culture, with flexible working, paid parental leave and learning chances. Visitors can use it to learn about the plant and the services.
