PS Engineering

PS Engineering, Inc. designs and manufactures aircraft audio control panels and intercoms at 9800 Martel Road, Lenoir City, Tennessee 37772. The company was founded in 1985 by Mark Scheuer, an electrical engineering graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a pilot, and the site says audio control is its only product focus: it does not make GPS units, transponders or autopilots. Its products are used in general aviation, business aviation and special mission aircraft, and PS Engineering also supplies audio panels to other avionics manufacturers. The site says its products are made in the USA and that its quality assurance manual is approved by the FAA.

• Accessories: speaker amplifier, remote warning system, tactical radio adapter and marker beacon receiver

The PMA450C, for example, is a slide-in replacement for the Garmin GMA340 with two Bluetooth modules, a three soft-key interface with an OLED display, IntelliAudio dimensional sound for listening to two com radios at once, a USB-C charging port, a six-place IntelliVox intercom and a digital radio recorder. Features the company lists as its firsts include IntelliVox automatic VOX, swap mode, soft mute for music, an integrated aural alert system and Bluetooth in an audio control system. In 2026 the company announced integration of the PMA450EX with the Dynon SkyView HDX.

Dealers and warranty

Products are installed through a network of more than 300 PS Engineering dealers and installers worldwide, found via the dealer locator. The site states that the factory warranty applies when a product is installed by a PS Engineering dealer, with a custom wire harness made by a dealer, or as a plug-and-play slide-in replacement.
