About PassionAir

PassionAir is a domestic airline in Ghana. Its legal name is Pisces Aviation Limited, and it is wholly Ghanaian owned. The company was incorporated in July 2015. It received its Air Operator's Certificate from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority in September 2017.

The airline began with charter work. Its first customer was in the oil and gas industry. It started commercial flights in August 2018. The first domestic flight went to Kumasi on 23 August 2018. The Canadian Ambassador to Ghana was the guest of honour. A representative from Manhyia Palace also joined the celebration. The airline grew from charter work to scheduled service in under a year after it began commercial operations.

After Kumasi, PassionAir added Tamale and Takoradi. Later it launched two more routes, to Wa and Sunyani. The airline now serves Accra, Takoradi, Kumasi, Tamale, Wa and Sunyani. It says this is the largest route network of any domestic airline in Ghana.

The airline says it wants air travel to meet and exceed customer expectations in the Ghanaian domestic market. It also plans smoother connections between Ghanaian cities and their airports. Its stated aim is to connect Ghana one city at a time.

Safety is a stated priority. PassionAir received the Litson and Associates Aviation Safety Award. It also says it follows the standards of the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers, known as IOGP.

The website lists the board and executive management team. It names Air Commodore V. K. Mamphey, who is retired from the air force. Other roles listed include the Director of Business Development, the Director of Flight Operation and the IT and System Integrity Manager.

Passengers can reach the call centre from 4 am to 9 pm, Monday to Saturday. The site lists offices in Accra and an airport desk in Kumasi.
