About Paragon Flight Training Co.

Paragon Flight Training Co. is a flight school with locations in Fort Myers and Punta Gorda, Florida, and in LaGrange, Georgia. It trains pilots from discovery flights through commercial training. Students can train full time or part time, and the school says students come from across the United States to train in Florida and Georgia.

Courses include discovery flights, private pilot training, instrument ratings, commercial pilot certificates, multi-engine ratings and flight instructor training (CFI, CFII and MEI). The school also offers international student pilot training, military and government programs, and aircraft transition training. Training paths can follow FAA Part 61, FAA Part 141, or a combination of both.

The P3 Professional Pilot Program is the school's career track for commercial pilots. It is built on a structured FAA Part 141 curriculum. The school says it has over 300 flying days per year in Florida, which it says helps students progress faster.

The school describes a teaching method called the Paragon Learning Cycle. It has five steps: introduction, reinforcement, proficiency building, practical application and review. Computer based modules deliver much of the ground knowledge, and students then practice with instructors and in the aircraft.

The school reports a 78 percent completion rate and a 90 percent first time pass rate. It gives an estimated all-in cost of $94,500 for a student with no experience to reach a commercial multi-engine certificate, on an accelerated track of 10 to 14 months. Funding paths it helps students explore include aviation student loans, scholarships and grants, 529 education plans, VA benefits and self-funded plans.

For pilots changing aircraft, the school offers transition training. It says it has more than 100,000 training hours on Garmin G1000 glass cockpit training since 2006. Programs use classroom ground training, an FAA Level 5 flight training device, and then final demonstration in the aircraft. Military programs include initial flight orientation and rotary wing to fixed wing transition training.
