Moorabbin Flying Services

Moorabbin Flying Services is a flight training organization based at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne, Victoria. The school has operated for more than 25 years. It trains both domestic and international students from their first trial flight through to commercial pilot and instrument qualifications.

The organization is a Registered Training Organisation and a CRICOS provider. This allows it to offer nationally recognized training and to enroll international students. The school was named Flying Training Organisation of the Year in 2017 and again in 2018. These awards were presented by the Royal Aeronautical Society Australian Division and Australian Flying magazine.

Moorabbin Flying Services provides a wide range of pilot training programs. Students can begin with a trial introductory flight. The school offers private pilot licence training and commercial pilot licence training. It also provides a flight instructor rating program. Diploma level courses include the Diploma of Aviation for commercial pilot licence and the Diploma of Aviation for instrument rating.

Ground based theory courses cover recreational pilot licence, private pilot licence, commercial pilot licence, air transport pilot licence, and multi crew cooperation subjects. These theory modules are designed for both aspiring and professional pilots. The school also runs VET in Schools programs. A three day holiday program is available for school students who want to learn about aviation.

The training fleet includes six Piper Warrior III aircraft. These serve as the primary platform for flight instruction. A Piper Archer III is available for cross country flying and pilot in command hour building. This aircraft offers a more powerful engine and additional avionics. A Piper Seminole twin engine aircraft is used for multi engine endorsement training. The school also uses a PA44 full motion simulator.

Moorabbin Flying Services operates from Moorabbin Airport. The school serves students from across Australia and from many other countries. Training is available seven days per week during business hours. Both ground school and flight training take place at the airport facilities.
