Modern JET Center

Modern Jet Center is a fixed base operator, or FBO, in Owensboro, Kentucky. Its address is 3410 Bittel Road, Owensboro, KY 42301. The site also refers to the business as Modern Transportation. The site says Modern Welding Company operates the business.

The site says Modern Transportation was founded in 1945 by Pete Barnard, owner of Modern Welding Company. Barnard bought his first private airplane because commercial travel took too long for his business. Modern Welding has owned eleven aircraft over the years.

Aircraft parking is available on the airport apron. The site says aircraft can stay for a day or a week. The apron is gated and monitored 24 hours a day. Tarmac parking is a short walk from the lounge and the courtesy car service.

A courtesy car is available for ground transport. For longer stays, the staff can arrange a rental car with a national rental company. Guests are asked to call before arriving if they need a rental car. The lounge is full service. It has a kitchen, restroom, office, shower, relaxed seating and a TV.

Jet A fueling is provided on request during normal business hours. Outside those hours, the FBO manager can be reached for refueling. The site lists Jet A at $6.49 per gallon for pump service and says the price includes tax. Accepted payment methods include AVCARD, Avfuel, American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Discover and US Bank Multi Service.

The FBO manager, Mike Johnson, handles reservations, rental cars, airport parking and special requests, according to the site. The phone number is (270) 685-1871, and the fax number is (270) 685-4462. The site also lists an email address for the business.

The site also lists Modern Steel Sales and Modern Supply Company under other services.
