Leighnor Aircraft

Leighnor Aircraft LLC is a Part 61 flight school and aircraft rental company at 6418 MacCurdy Drive, Prescott, Arizona, at Prescott Regional Airport, Ernest A. Love Field (KPRC). The current operation began in Prescott in 2017 and is owned by Lance and Debbie Leighnor. The name goes back to January 1946, when Lance's father Bill Leighnor and his two brothers, known as the Flying Leighnors, started a charter service and flight school in Hutchinson, Kansas, with three Stearman aircraft.

Training follows the FAA Part 61 approach, which the school describes as flexible and adapted to each student's schedule. International students are accepted, and a pilot training guide on the site explains requirements, costs and timelines. Financing options and gift certificates are available.

Simulator, rental and flights

The school operates a Redbird FMX flight simulator for instrument procedures, emergency scenarios and manoeuvre practice. Aircraft are rented to qualified pilots after a rental agreement, renter's insurance and a checkout; scheduling runs through Flight Schedule Pro, and the site publishes rental rates and fuel and operating costs. The Wings Above Yavapai membership gives lower rates to pilots who fly often. Leighnor also sells scenic and charter flights over the Prescott area, Sedona and the Grand Canyon.

Team

The team page lists Lance and Debbie Leighnor as owners, David Ayala-Lindeman as director of operations, Eric Williams as chief instructor since 2026 and Jerred Clark as office manager. Lance Leighnor earned his private pilot certificate in 1979 while at Kansas State University.
