Jacksonville University

Jacksonville University is a private liberal arts university in Jacksonville, Florida. Its School of Aviation sits within the Davis College of Business and Technology. The site says the school has trained future professional pilots and aviation executives for over 41 years.

The school offers aviation management and aviation management with flight operations degrees. The site says both are accredited by the Aviation Accreditation Board International. The university says graduates can qualify for a restricted airline transport pilot certificate with 1,000 flight hours.

The site lists two airline partnerships. The university is a Delta Propel partner university and a JetBlue Gateway partner university. It also has a partnership with the L3 Harris Airline Academy, which the site says offers airline oriented flight training and a direct career path to the airlines.

The site says the Federal Aviation Administration chose the university as one of 31 nationwide for the Collegiate Training Initiative, which trains future air traffic controllers. It also says the university won the 2008 Loening Trophy for the top all-around collegiate aviation program in the nation. The site says the university won the Air Race Classic in 2011 and was a top 10 winner in 2019.

The aviation program uses drones. A student video on the site says students use quadcopters and fixed wing drones, mainly for mapping large areas. Students also teach younger students about drone careers.

The site has pages for school FAQs, undergraduate programs, tuition and costs and campus life. Students can contact the School of Aviation through Nikki Bobbin at 904-256-7895. The admissions office number is 904-256-7000.
