Indian Space Association

The Indian Space Association, known as ISpA, is an industry association for the space sector in India. It runs events, policy work and membership programmes for companies, and it works with government bodies and partner organisations. Its website covers space verticals, policy resources, news and membership.

ISpA groups its work into space verticals. These are satellite communications, positioning, navigation and timing, earth observation, applications, the full value chain of the space industry, ground segment, launch vehicles, and a defence and strategic domain.

The association has an Executive Council, a Membership Council and a National Advisory Committee. People can join as members or through an affiliate program, and the site lists current members. It also has career and internship pages.

ISpA does policy advocacy. Its resources section holds Indian and international reports, policies, treaties, schemes and concept papers. It has released a concept paper on Space Technology Parks.

Events are a large part of its work. The India International Space Conclave 2026 takes place on 23 and 24 November 2026 at The Lalit in New Delhi, under the theme of building a globally competitive and sustainable space economy, and a call for papers is open. The Indian DefSpace Symposium, in its 4th edition, was held at the Manekshaw Centre in New Delhi on 23 and 24 April 2026. Other events include an Indian Space Industry Capability Workshop on 8 May 2026, an India-US space command dialogue and a webinar on insurance readiness for space startups.

ISpA has signed memoranda of understanding with the Korea Association for Space Technology Promotion, the Centre for Air Power Studies and the Association of Geospatial Industries. It also shares media coverage, articles, podcasts, a newsletter and webinar recordings.
