IMT Forge Group

IMT Group is a North American manufacturer of forged and machined parts. The group has six businesses: Precision, Elemental, Elite Finish, Standen’s, PC Forge and CJ Forge. Aerospace is one of the markets it serves.

The site says the company was founded in 1914 as Ingersoll Machine and Tool. It began in a small factory that was first meant for soap production. Today it describes itself as a supplier to the transportation, OEM and defence sectors.

Its capabilities include custom forging, CNC machining, hammering and upsetting, specialized welding, heat treating, finishing, cutting and processing, and automated assembly. Closed-die forging covers 1,500 to 25,000 pounds, and parts range from 1 pound to 830 pounds. The group also does design and engineering, 3D modeling, plastic prototyping, simulation and digital inspection.

Other processes include annealing, quench and tempering, carburizing, induction hardening and painting. It also does rubber and nylon injection molding. Standen’s makes leaf springs, suspension parts and agricultural tools.

The five markets listed are defence, agriculture, aerospace, automotive and mining. The site gives group figures of more than 1,000 employees and over six manufacturing facilities. It also says the group makes over one million parts a day.
