About Ifatsea

IFATSEA is the International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations. It unites the professional associations of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel, known as ATSEPs, from around the world. The federation describes itself as non-political.

The federation says its vision is to be the authoritative voice on the competence of ATSEPs. It works to improve air traffic safety performance worldwide. Its objectives include promoting safety, efficiency and regularity in international air navigation.

IFATSEA is recognized as an observer by ICAO. It helped develop ICAO PANS-TRG Doc 9868 and a manual on ATSEP competency-based training and assessment, published as ICAO Doc 10057. It also takes part in SESAR work on the Single European Sky and in EASA rulemaking.

The federation keeps working relationships with the transport unions ETF and ITF. It also works with other aviation professional groups, including IFAIMA, IFALPA, IFATCA and IFISA. The site reports memorandums of understanding with IFATCA and with IFAIMA.

The site lists calling notices for the 54th IFATSEA General Assembly in Nairobi, Kenya, from 8 to 13 November 2026. It also has a call for nominations for officers. A venue change for the 16th Africa Region Meeting is noted.

The site has pages for member associations, corporate membership, the executive board, advisors and a media team. It also has an e-library of resources.

The contact page lists a phone number for the federation. The site says its membership resources section will grow over time.
