Gibson and Barnes manufactures flight suits, uniforms, jackets, pants, flame-resistant protective clothing and personal body cooling systems for aviation, emergency medical, law enforcement and industrial users. The company is based at 1900 Weld Boulevard in El Cajon, California, and states that more than 60,000 customers in the United States, Canada and 50 other countries use its products. It supplies air medical transport operators, aviation and tactical law enforcement units, NASA astronauts, the US and international armed forces, agricultural aviation and commercial helicopter operators, and says nearly every test pilot in the western world uses items it manufactures.

Helmets and communications

Gibson and Barnes is a distributor of Gentex flight crew helmets, made in an ISO 9001 certified facility and approved by the US military, the US Department of the Interior, air medical and law enforcement authorities, and of Ops-Core tactical helmets. It manufactures communications cables and equipment for these helmets and stocks parts such as HGU-56/P ARC rail kits, anti-laser inner lenses, visor housings, tracks and hardware, and maxillofacial shields. The store also lists Princeton Tec Switch RGBIR helmet lights, the GB-500 general aviation headset, the GB-1000 headset with a detachable cord system for helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft, ANR active noise reduction systems and the Ops-Core AMP tactical headset. Leather and cloth flying helmets are made in-house.

Ordering

Products are sold through the company's online store, with an order and quote form and a toll-free phone line. Black headsets and cables are generally in stock, with other colours and configurations by special order.
