Future Flyers of Iowa

Future Flyers of Iowa is a flight school at the Winterset Municipal Airport in Winterset, Iowa. The school is in central Iowa, just southwest of the Des Moines metropolitan area. It offers private pilot, instrument rating, commercial pilot and multi-engine training.

The school uses a Cessna 177 Cardinal II, a Cessna 172, a Cessna 150 and a Liberty XL2 for single-engine training. It uses a Seneca I for multi-engine training. The site says the aircraft have current avionics and GPS equipment for all flight conditions.

The site says the school follows an approved FAA syllabus. It also says training can be adjusted to each student's needs. Students can book lessons through an online scheduling tool. The tool shows instructor availability so students can choose their days and times.

The site lists requirements for a private pilot certificate. A student must be at least 17 years old, able to speak English, hold at least a third class medical and log at least 40 hours of flight time. A commercial certificate requires an instrument rating and at least 100 hours as pilot in command.

The school also offers aircraft rental, ground instruction, flight reviews and instrument proficiency checks. Its multi-engine land rating is an add-on to an existing private or commercial certificate. It needs an oral exam and a practical checkride with a designated pilot examiner.

The site describes a discovery flight over Winterset and the Des Moines area in a Cessna Cardinal II or a Liberty XL2. The school also sells gift certificates. Visitors can sign up for its email list for updates.

The school can be reached by phone at (515) 954-2600. Its mailing address is 3405 N 8th Avenue, Winterset, Iowa 50273. The school has a Facebook page listed on its site.
